View a public profile’s Instagram highlights
Instagram Highlights Viewer is for the saved story highlights a public profile keeps on its page — the curated sets that stay visible after a story expires. This panel loads the profile’s active stories; highlights are the saved versions on the profile itself. Public profiles only, no login.
Enter a public username, e.g. spacex, to browse its active stories — highlights are the saved sets on the profile.
What you’ll see after you search
Enter a public username and the panel returns one of a few states: a scrollable result set (when the profile has public content for this view), an empty result (when there is nothing public to show right now), or a private-account notice (when the username belongs to a private profile). Reload any time to pull a fresh snapshot.
How to use it
Three steps, no account — enter a public username, build the view, and browse the result.
Enter a public username
Type a public profile's username (for example spacex) or paste its profile URL into the box. No login, no password.
Build the view
The panel checks the public profile and pulls the current snapshot of whatever this viewer shows — posts, stories, highlights, tagged, reposts or following.
Browse the result
Scroll the result set in one place. Open any item for a larger view, or reload to pull a fresh snapshot of what is public right now.
What are highlights, exactly?
Highlights are stories an owner deliberately saved into labelled sets that sit under the bio on the profile page. They do not expire the way a normal story does — they stay until the owner deletes them, so they work like a permanent, curated story collection.
That makes them different from the temporary stories this panel loads. Active stories roll off after their window; highlights persist.
How do you view a profile’s highlights?
On a public profile, highlights appear as round covers above the post grid — open one to play its saved set. This page focuses on the live story view; for a profile's permanent saved sets, open the profile itself or the profile viewer and tap a highlight cover.
A private account’s highlights are not publicly viewable — only approved followers see them inside Instagram.
Active stories vs saved highlights
| Active stories | Highlights | |
|---|---|---|
| Lifespan | Temporary — expire | Persist until removed |
| Where they live | At the top of the app | Round covers under the bio |
| Who arranges them | Whatever is live now | Owner curates into sets |
| Public visibility | Public if profile is | Public if profile is |
How this viewer gets its data
Highlights are the owner’s saved story sets, pinned to a public profile page as labelled covers. This panel loads the profile’s currently active stories; to reach the saved highlights themselves you open the public profile and tap a highlight cover, since those sets live on the profile, not in a temporary feed.
Everything here stays within public content. A private account’s highlights are not reachable from outside Instagram, and the viewer never attempts to bypass that.
What a typical result looks like
A public profile that uses highlights typically keeps a row of a few to a couple dozen labelled covers — things like “Travel”, “FAQ” or “Products”. Profiles that never saved any highlights simply show no covers, which is expected.
Who uses it, and why
Saved, not temporary
Highlights persist on the profile until the owner removes them — unlike active stories.
Owner-curated sets
Each highlight is a labelled bundle the owner grouped on purpose.
Public profiles only
A private account’s highlights stay visible only to approved followers.
What it can’t do
- This panel loads active stories; saved highlight sets live on the public profile page itself.
- Cannot reach a private account’s highlights — only approved followers see them inside Instagram.
- Whether a highlight exists is up to the owner; some public profiles keep none.

Common questions
Are highlights the same as stories?
No. Stories are temporary; highlights are stories the owner saved into permanent labelled sets on the profile page.
How long do highlights last?
Until the owner removes them. Unlike active stories, highlights do not expire on a timer.
Can I view a private account’s highlights?
No. A private account’s highlights are only visible to approved followers inside Instagram.
Where do highlights appear?
As round covers under the bio on the profile page, above the posts grid. Each cover opens one saved set.
Does this panel show highlights or stories?
It loads the profile’s active stories. Highlights are the saved sets on the profile itself — open a highlight cover there to view them.
